“I fully support the decision”: Justin Tucker on the game losing conversions

Justin Tucker and John Harbaugh

The Baltimore Ravens are 8-6 in the AFC North division after their third consecutive loss. The Ravens were the underdogs in the match against the best team in the league, the Green Bay Packers. Even though the Ravens were playing without their star QB Lamar Jackson, they went toe-to-toe with the 11-3 Packers and almost came ahead of them.

Did HC Harbaugh make the right decision?

The Ravens faced the same situation against the Packers as they did with the Steelers. The game came down to 1-point where the Ravens could have settled for a successful extra point and let the game go into overtime. But Ravens HC John Harbaugh took the decision of going after a two-point conversion and winning the game both times. Unfortunately, it did not go the Ravens’ way. They ended up losing against the Steelers as well as the Packers.

Fans think that the Ravens should have called out Justin Tucker, the best kicker of all time, for the extra point and let the game go into OT. However, Raven’s locker room completely agrees with the decision their head coach made to go for two points over PATs.

Tucker agrees with the decision to go for two-points.

Justin Tucker said in an interview with the Ravens’ “The Lounge” podcast“I fully support it. Everybody on our team fully supports going for two because you have the chance to put the game away right then and there.”

“Of course, there is plenty of folks who have their opinions and comments about it. But it’s one of those things where, if you’re a part of it, a member of the team, if you’re in it, you just understand that is the move. You go for two and you put the game away. If it doesn’t work out, you pick up the pieces and you just move on”, added Tucker.

Justin Tucker, the G.O.A.T. kicker has a perfect record of 8-for-8 in the fourth quarter and overtime. So might argue that the Ravens could’ve had a fighting chance in OT if they went for the extra point. But Tucker disagrees with this theory. Tucker said, “I wanted to make it very well-known, that I am fully supportive of going for two and winning the game right there.”

The Ravens are going to face the Cincinnati Bengals this Sunday.
