Matthew & Kelly Stafford's family
Matthew Stafford is a name to reckon with in the world of the NFL. The star quarterback guided his team, the Los Angeles Rams to a Super Bowl title this year. Although he wasnโt having the best of games on the night of the finale, the Rams still managed to pull off an emphatic win.
Through all highs and lows, Matthew Stafford has received undying support from Kelly Stafford, his wife with whom he tied the knot back in 2015. Recently, on her podcast, “The Morning After with Kelly Stafford,” Kelly opened up about the time when Matthew was traded to the Rams by the Lions.
“Some days youโre not going to be the best mom, and thatโs OK”: Kelly Stafford

Kelly stated that she was a little nervous about what to expect as their family was had to move to Los Angeles after the trade. “I just really wanted to put something out there that, people might think you have your life altogether โ I feel like I was told all the time, โOh your kids are so perfectly behaved,โ and Iโm like, โWhoa, whoa, whoa, no.โ“
“My life looks good on social media, but let me really tell you guys whatโs real in my life,” she stated. “I just felt like I wanted to get my voice out there and kind of give moms a chance to laugh and realize itโs OK. My whole past 15 years of my life has been, โYeah, thatโs cool, whatโs Matthew up to?’ And Iโm like, โOh, did you not hear anything I just said?โ”
While talking about her podcast, Kelly said that itโs a fun thing for her as it really brings real-life into conversations and keeps her grounded. “What I felt was, there was not a lot of authenticity in what I was seeing on Instagram, and moving to L.A., I was a little nervous as to what I would see in real life and listen to,” Stafford recently told the New York Post.
She added that she wanted to inspire other families and mothers by letting them know that it is indeed alright to make mistakes. “I wanted to put my voice out there, more for moms and families, just let people know that itโs crazy, and some days youโre not going to be the best mom, and thatโs OK youโre going to make mistakes.”
As for Matthew, he recently signed a four-year contract extension with the Rams worth up to $160 million with $135 million guaranteed.
