Garret Downing feels Lamar Jackson is respected by many other players in the NFL
Leading NFL analyst, Garrett Downing gave his views on the selection of Lamar Jackson which came on the basis of his exhilarating performances for the Ravens this year. He gave a great account of why Jackson was selected for the role, even though it was based on the voting system.
Downing revealed that while Jackson came in 4th place in the fan voting phase, but what boosted his cause were the votes from his fellow players and coaches in the NFL. This was something which according to the analyst, spoke volumes of the respect that Lamar Jackson has in the circuit.
“As I said, this player (Lamar Jackson) has so much respect. Defensive guys, in this league, know how difficult it is trying to bring him down and stop him considering all of the things that he can do. Coaches, know how tough it is when they’re going up against the Ravens, and have to come up with a game plan to stop him and the offense,” said Garrett Downing on why Jackson won so many votes from the players and coaches.
Downing also felt that Lamar is in some elite company as “he is one of those guys who is respected by so many other players.” Jackson will now want to justify his selection and come up with a performance like in 2019 when he won the MVP of the Pro Bowl match.
