“He is a special talent”: Makai Polk hogs the limelight at the 49ers’ local pro day

Makai Polk
Mississippi State wide receiver Makai Polk is quickly rising through the ranks. He only spent a solitary season with the Bulldogs, but played a huge part in his team’s success during the 2021 season.
Known for making game-changing plays, Polk broke several records and finished the year on a high. As expected, he declared for the 2022 NFL Draft and it would be fair to say that a lot of teams would be interested in roping him in.
“I just had my own personal goals I wanted to achieve”: Makai Polk is ready for the big stage

Although he is known for his ability to perform as a wide receiver, Polk excelled in both, offense and defense as a student-athlete in high school. Just before his last college season, receiver Makai Polk made list of goals he wanted to accomplish. Among them were 10 touchdown catches and 1,000 receiving yards.
Polk went Mississippi State and adapted rather quickly. He finished just one touchdown shy of his goal and 48 yards beyond his yardage objective. “I didn’t go in wanting to break records or anything,” Polk said as reported by The Atheletic. “I just had my own personal goals I wanted to achieve.”
“I had a little contact with coach Leach. They didn’t offer me at all. I know they probably say they did, but they didn’t offer me at all,” he further added. Recently, Polk was spotted at Levi’s Stadium where he was a part of the 49ers’ local pro day. He ran routes in front of new receivers coach Leonard Hankerson and also caught passes from local QBs.
Without a doubt, Polk is a special talent and it won’t be a surprise if we see him dominating at the biggest stage in the near future.
