The verdict is out, and Tom Brady is the GOAT of all GOATs, says Michael Irwin. TB12 was recently helmed as the greatest athlete of all time by former NFL player Michael Irvin on ESPN.

The debate on who is the greatest athlete of all time has always happened between friends and analysts alike. Michael Irvin gave his take as he thinks Tom Brady is better than Michael Jordan as the greatest of all time.

It is not fair to compare the two legends who are arguably the GOATs in their respective sports, as they have given so much to their respective games.

Michael Irvin told Stephen A. Smith on ESPN that 45-year-old Tom Brady can be considered the greatest athlete of all time. The only other person in the conversation was NBA legend Michael Jordan. Though all the analysts forgot about the athletes out of America when they were talking about the greatest ever, that’s a different story altogether.

According to Michael Irvin, Tom Brady takes the win due to his 7 Super Bowl rings over Michael Jordan’s 6 NBA Championship rings. Both are superstars who have inspired millions, but we think TB12 takes a win here.

Who is the real GOAT in sports? Jordan or Brady?

Championship rings can be one way to decide who is better, and that’s the route that the former Cowboys superstar took. But there are other parameters as well that make someone the greatest athlete of all time. Let’s look at some of them below.

Tom Brady has probably had the best career longevity of all the athletes considered in the NFL or any other sport. The Bucs QB has been playing for 23 years and is still a top player. Recently, TB12 was also voted as the best player of the year on the NFL top 100 list.

Tom Brady was also the highest earner in the NFL. Brady decided to retire earlier this season, but reversed that thought and rejoined the NFL for his pursuit of the 8th Super Bowl ring. The 45-year-old is still one of the most clutch players of all time. He has an impeccable record in the Playoffs and rarely loses.

These records can be overwhelming for a simple athlete but not for the legendary Michael Jordan who Tom Brady was being compared. MJ retired in 2003 and ever since then, no one has been a better personality in sports than the legendary Jordan.

Michael Jordan was a true leader on the field who won 6 titles (which includes two three-peats!), 6 NBA FMVP’s and 5 NBA MVP’s but the most underrated achievement by MJ was that he put basketball on the globe for all the people. The last point might be the real differentiator if one seriously sits down on the GOAT debate.
