Both the Detroit Lions and the Las Vegas Raiders are coming off disappointing blowouts. They will face each other on Monday, October 30. According to FanDuel Sportsbook, 90% of the people believe that the game will go in the Lions’ favor.

Ford Field is set to host its first primetime 8:15 p.m. ET game after more than four years. Jared Goff‘s team would love to recapture their form, which saw them win five consecutive games. On the other hand, the Raiders are still finding their identity as to whether they are really good or if the rebuilding phase is still in full motion.

A big boost for the Las Vegas franchise is the return of QB 1 Jimmy Garoppolo, who missed the last game against the Baltimore Ravens. But the Lions will once again miss out on fielding explosive wide receiver Amon Ra Saint Brown. His status has been changed to questionable.

As the holiday season approaches, several teams have opted for throwbacks. The Lions, keeping that theme alive, will dawn alternate helmets and color-rush uniforms. They are currently the runaway leaders of the NFC North, which they haven’t won since 1993. Heck, it was still called the NFC Central back in those days.

Detroit Lions Predicted Lineup

Jared Goff is a nailed-on starter who hasn’t missed a single game this season. He has multitudes of targets to look for in the outfield, which consists of Amon Ra Saint Brown, Josh Reynolds, Jahmyr Gibbs, and Sam Laporta.

There hasn’t been any news regarding whether star running back David Montgomery will be available or not. Apart from them, Jameson Willaims and Khalif Raymond are expected to take a few snaps. In defense, Aidan Hutchinson, along with Kerby Joseph and Tracy Walker II, are expected to start the game against the Raiders.

Las Vegas Raiders Predicted Lineup

Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo is expected to start. In his absence, Aidan O’Connell and veteran Brian Hoyer took over the wheel last week. Star wide receiver Davante Adams, along with his receiver partner Jakobi Meyers, will be on the field from the first whistle. Besides them, Josh Jacobs, Zamir White, Austin Hooper, Trey Tucker, and Hunter Renfrow got the nod.

On the defensive pass rush, Maxx Crosby is one of the first names on the team sheet. Robert Spillane, David Long Jr., Marcuse Epps, and Marcus Peters complete the offensive line, along with John Jenkins and Luke Masterson in the backfield.

Why can the Detroit Lions win the game?

The Detroit Lions are 5-2 this season and 14-3 in 17 games, which is the best in the NFL in that period. Head coach Dan Campbell has created an offense that scores at least 25 points every game—ninth in the league. Their average gain in those games is nearly 370 yards as per Pro Football Focus, but against the Raiders, that could see similar output—90 rushing yards included.

The last meeting between the two came in 2019 when the Raiders (then based in Oakland) won 32-24. But the atmosphere around the fixture has changed dramatically, mainly because of Lions’ quarterback Jared Goff. The 29-year-old is just 98 yards shy of crossing the 2000 passing yard mark this season and has thrown 11 touchdowns with a 97.5 passer rating.

Why can the Las Vegas Raiders win the game?

The Las Vegas Raiders are a tricky proposition. They have some useful weapons in their arsenal, like running back Josh Jacobs, who led the NFL with 1.653 rushing yards last season. However, he has struggled this season with just 562 total yards and 26 catches out of the backfield. But that could all change in this game.

Then there’s Davante Adams, who would benefit from the return of Garoppolo. When the two started the game together, Adams averaged 79.2 receiving yards and caught three touchdowns in the five games.

It will be a massive game for Max defensive end Maxx Crosby, who will be returning to his home state for the first time. Since being drafted in 2019, Crosby has been one of the best quarterback rushers in the game, with 271 tackles and 44 sacks. Linebacker Robert Spillane already has 78 tackles and two interceptions this season; can pressure Goff on the day.
