After a long and arduous battle, Johnny Depp has finally emerged victorious and been cleared of all the charges filed against him by his ex-wife Amber Heard.
The grand jury ordered the Aquaman actress to pay $10.35 million to the 58-year-old actor and she will be awarded a mere sum of $2 million. The decision of the court was hailed all around the world as men also suffer domestic abuse and it’s not every day that they win such cases.
Amber Heard’s lawyer believes the court didn’t upload the law and the Aquaman actress is ready to appeal the verdict
Amber Heard’s lawyer Elaine Bredehoft appeared on the CBS Morning show along with former NFL player Nate Burleson on Thursday, June 2. During the show, Bredehoft revealed that Amber Heard has expressed her wish to appeal the verdict of her controversial defamation case against ex-husband Johnny Depp.
The Virginia-based trial lawyer said on live television that the case was heavily influenced by pro-Depp supporters. She added that due to the immense support showered on Depp, the decision of the jury was biased. “We had cameras in the courtroom,” Bredehoft said. “Here, we had not only did we have a group of Depp fans that were there every day, 100 were allowed in, they lined up at one in the morning for wristbands to be in that courtroom, but we had everything on camera, and we had tremendous social media that was very, very, very much against Amber.”
“I think that there were a lot of influences here that were beyond our control. And I think the social media, it was like a Roman coliseum, is the best way to describe the atmosphere here.” The response that former Vikings WR gave won appreciation from all over the world. “I am a former NFL player, and after a hard loss, it’s easy to wake up and point to the other side. Oftentimes, I realized (that) the better thing to do was to look in the mirror. What mistakes did I make as a player? What mistakes did our coaching staff made [sic]? And then how can we improve from there,” replied Burleson.
Burleson was polite enough to point out to Bredehoft that maybe it was her legal team’s shortcomings that lost them the case. He said she should look into herself and her actions rather than pointing fingers at others. While there are several videos circling social media that show Elaine Bredehoft and co-host Gayle King confounded by Burleson’s question. In reality, Bredehoft actually praised the question before answering it.
