The 11-year-old has been arrested and was booked on a single charge of second-degree attempted murder, Apopka Police Chief Mike McKinley told reporters Tuesday. “That’s not good,” Apopka Police Chief Mike McKinley said according to NBC News“We shouldn’t have 11-year-olds that have access to guns and think they can resolve a dispute with a firearm.”

McKinley also said that as a society people should reflect on this incident and that “nobody wants to arrest an 11-year-old by any means.” The police chief further told reporters that juveniles are ruining their lives by trying to solve their problems using firearms.

As for what led to the fight between the 11-year-old and his teammates, McKinley didn’t have an answer. But he did reveal that the 11-year-old has no prior criminal record.
