Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski are arguably the best quarterback-tight end tandem of all time. The dynamic duo was threatening the league for more than a decade with two teams the Patriots and the Buccaneers. Gronkowski retired from football last season and Tom Brady recently announced his retirement from football last week. And now that, both of them are retired, Gronkowski opens up about the possibility of reuniting with his long-time teammate Tom Brady.
During a recent interview with The Athletic, Rob Gronkowski revealed that there might be a possibility that he and his quarterback might be reuniting in the broadcast booth in the near future. Gronkowski has been occasionally working on Fox Sports since his second retirement after the 2021 season and Brady signed a 10-year contract with Fox Network but he has said he will not rush to get back to work until the fall of 2024.
“That’s definitely a possibility for sure, being with Tom for so long and now we’re going to be at Fox together,” said Gronkowski on Tuesday about the possibility of working with his former teammate.
Furthermore, he also revealed that there are not any plans right now but in the future, it would be fun to team up with his football buddy. “There really hasn’t been any plans or anything or any talks about it, but that definitely could be a possibility. We could banter back and forth in some way, somehow, maybe do a couple (of) promos together or whatever it is. That will be down the road. Time will have to tell with that,” said the former Buccaneers TE Gronkowski.
Is Gronkowski and Tom Brady the greatest QB-TE duo of all time?
When people think about the greatest QB and tight end duo, Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski will be right on most people’s lists. The Chiefs‘ Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes are closing in but right now it’s Brady and Gronk.
Back in their days with the Patriots, Gronkowski, and Brady used to dominate the league and won 3 Super Bowl rings. Moreover, Gronk came back from retirement to join forces with Brady in 2020 and helped him to win a ring with the Buccaneers.
The duo has multiple records including the most touchdowns by a duo in NFL playoffs history. While there are many QB-TE duos that did well together in the league, we may never see a duo like the Patriots’ Brady-Gronkowski ever again.
