The San Francisco 49ers have sorely missed the presence and output of wide receiver Deebo Samuel. In his absence, the Bay Area franchise is on a three-game losing streak.
Samuel sat out the week 7 and week 8 games against the Minnesota Vikings and the Cincinnati Bengals. He went off injured during the Week 6 game against the Cleveland Browns and did not rejoin the game. A CT scan later revealed a hairline fracture on his left shoulder.

His replacement, Juan Jennings, barely scratched 80 receiving yards during that spell. Only running back Christian McCaffrey has managed to keep his performance steady and touched the 17-game rushing touchdown record in the Bengals game.
The 49ers are currently serving their bye week, and it has given them the chance to watch tapes. For Samuel, it provided him with extra time to recover. In the recent segment of Up and Admas with Kay Adams, the 27-year-old revealed that he was nearing full fitness.
Deebo Samuel, while holding his baby boy Tyshun on FaceTime with Adams, said,
I am ready to go.
Now that should be music to the ears of the 49ers fans. More so after witnessing how second-year quarterback Brock Purdy has struggled in that period.

During the conversation, Adams asked Deebo Samuel about how the San Francisco 49ers locker room feels about Purdy’s recent dip in form. Although the 23-year-old’s completion percentage is above 70 in the last two games, he has been throwing interceptions (4) at an unforeseen rate.

For that reason, he has been the subject of intense criticism from all corners of the media. Some are even speculating that he had a good run but has been found out by the opposition teams. Samuel doesn’t bother about the outside noise that much and claims that the 49ers locker room is on board with the Purdy team.
Samuel told to Adams that the team had a meeting on Tuesday.
I don't think [the locker room] has changed at all. One thing I like about Brock is that with the guys we have in our locker room, we do a great job keeping his confidence up. Brock is like, 'Yo guys, this was on me. I got to be better.' That's one thing that we like about Brock.
Samuel revealed that losing back-to-back games is not the 49ers’ way, and the bye has helped them reflect on themselves.
We had to be even harder on ourselves. Losing three straight—that's just not our culture. We got a bye in the middle of the season, so we can come back fresh and ready to go.
The next game against the Jacksonville Jaguars will be an interesting watch. Jags are on a 5-game winning streak and are getting better and better as the season progresses.
