Aaron Rodgers went through the worst and possibly the last season of his playing career. The Packers QB has been part of the team for 19 years and will go down as their best player ever. However, fortunes weren’t kind enough for him as the 39-year-old couldn’t make the playoffs by registering a win against the Lions.
The Packers lost the game 20-16 and with that, all hope for a playoff spot was lost. Interestingly, retirement rumors started when Rodgers denied the Lions’ rookie receiver his jersey and stated that he would like to hold on to it.
This statement instantly got viral, and many people started speculating about the end of A-Rod as the Packers QB analyses and reconsiders things. Although Shannon Sharpe from the Undisputed doesn’t believe in Rodgers’ statements and blatantly shut down all his retirement rumors.
The Packers QB is guaranteed $60 million if he plays next year and Sharpe believes that Rodgers won’t turn down the big money and retire instead. Sharpe went on an insane rant against the reigning NFL MVP and called him out for being a ‘crybaby’ and holding the organization hostage to his desires.
“Hell no, he ain’t walking away from $60 million next year. Stop the speculation! You’ve been holding this organization hostage,” Sharpe stated on the Undisputed.
Sharpe pointed out that Rodgers’ cryptic attitude towards things has started to become annoying as the Packers QB incessantly drops hints and never confirms anything.
Aaron Rodgers will use the offseason to weigh his options

Rodgers and the Packers were denied playoff football on the last day of the regular season. The team had played well since the last month as they were on a 4-game winning streak. However, all good things must come to an end as they lost to the Lions.
Rodgers seemed shaken after the defeat and dropped many cryptic hints in his post-game press conference. The Packers QB will consider all his options during the offseason and decide if retiring is ideal for him and the team.
“It’s a feeling of what it’ll come down to this offseason. Do I feel like I have anything left to prove to myself? Do I want to go back and gear up for another grind? Or is it time? Is it time to step away? Is it time for another voice to be leading this team?,” Aaron Rodgers stated in his post-game press conference.
Rodgers will probably have to make the most important decision of his life. This decision will also include all the financial aspects as the QB had just signed a humongous contract with the Packers for multiple years.
