The Los Angeles Rams will be facing the Detroit Lions in the coming weekend in the wildcard round. Both teams have shown tremendous perseverance in the regular season and ended up securing places in the postseason. Ahead of the game, a heartwarming gesture took place between the Rams and the Lions team.
Aaron Donald, the defensive tackle said that he met Jared Goff, the QB who had a fabulous season with his team, and congratulated him for the success of the team.
The DT in front of the press, said that he congratulated the quarterback and the whole team for the success they generated on the gridiron. He also felt proud to see Goff’s performance on the turf.
Donald said:
We had a good relationship. We were cool, proud of what he’d been accomplishing. Reached out to him and told him I’m proud of him. So I feel like we have a good relationship.Aaron Donald to the media
Despite praising his former teammates, it is expected that the DT would not leave an inch of space to the quarterback in the coming encounter. He would be in charge of stopping the quarterback. It is to be seen, how the former teammates perform against each other. It is expected that both of them will have a mouthwatering clash.
Aaron Donald says Jared Goff has evolved as a player
Jared Goff did everything that his team could ask for this season. With 30 touchdowns against 12 interceptions for more than 4,500 yards, he led his team to the postseason. The quarterback is expected to carry the team in the playoffs as well.
According to Donald, the quarterback has developed himself with time. His playmaking abilities have included a lot of maturity. Speaking on that Donald added:
No, obviously he grew as a player so you know some things he did well, some things that made him feel uncomfortable you could take advantage of. But obviously he grew as a player. The X’s and O’s, he probably knows even much more than what he did when he was here. So he’s a great football player. We know he’s not the most mobile guy, but when he’s got a clean pocket and he’s able to make all the right throws, he can do that. So we just got to do a great job of finding ways to put pressure on him, make him uncomfortable, and hopefully we get to him.Aaron Donald continued
It is worth noting that this is the second time Goff would face his former club.
