Aaron Jones was a beast on Sunday night as he led a young and charged-up Green Bay Packers team to a commanding 48-32 victory over the Dallas Cowboys in the wild-card round. As a result, he acquired a new title for himself.

The one-time Pro Bowler, who has had a season to forget, appeared to be saving every bit of energy and passion for the trip to Arlington. During the 2023 regular season, Jones only played 11 games and rushed for 656 yards for 2 touchdowns.

However, it was a completely different scenario in the Cowboys game. Jones dominated the Dallas backfield, rushing 118 yards and three touchdowns from 21 carries, as well as one 13-yard reception.

This led to a hilarious edit on his ‘Wikipedia’ page. It claimed that he “owned” the Cowboys.

But just to be clear, this should only be taken with a grain of salt because he is not the owner. He shares the same last name as Cowboys boss Jerry Jones, but there’s no relationship between the two individuals.

How did Aaron Jones react to the historic Cowboys win?

The Dallas Cowboys went into Sunday’s wild-card game as 7-point favorites to beat the Packers. Green Bay also had the disadvantage of being the 7th seed in recent history. No team had previously won any post-season games.

However, they had overall history on their side, winning nine of the last 10 meetings against Dallas. But they were entering a new era with a fairly inexperienced quarterback in the shape of Jordan Love.

To many football fans and analysts’ surprise, they took a 27-0 lead in the first half with the help of Dallas quarterback Dak Prescott throwing to pick 6s. Aaron Jones was one of the key components of the Packers’ massive lead, scoring two of his three touchdowns early on.

People are going to doubt us, but that’s fine.
Jones after the game

Jones also mentioned that it was a special moment for him. The 29-year-old grew up supporting the Cowboys with his father.

Emmitt Smith was my favorite running back. My first jersey was a 22. I got the chance to speak to him before the game, so that was special to me as well.
Jones added

The win over the Cowboys set up a matchup against the San Francisco 49ers in the divisional playoff. It will be the 10th post-season meeting between the two teams, with the Niners edging the tie by 5.
