Aaron Rodgers did not provide much information regarding rehab following his surgery, but he did hint at a few out-of-the-box methods that are on his mind. He is currently bedridden and unable to put pressure on the operated left Achilles.
The 39-year-old made a special appearance on the Pat McAfee show on Friday, covering college football in Colorado. Pat McAfee asked the New York Jets quarterback how he was doing and what the rehabilitation process looked like. Rodgers did not disclose much, but he has a few tricks up his sleeve. In the past, the bizarre treatment of Darkness Retreat has helped him get over bad times, as has the use of Ayahuasca.
“There’s ideas that some of the noises from the Dolphins when they’re love-making—the frequency of that is actually healing to the body,” Aaron Rodgers told McAfee, which started a series of comical conversations between the pair. Then the ESPN analyst asked if Rodgers would take his Achilles close to the Dolphins and let their “whistling” start working on the injury.
“So you’re just sticking the Achilles up sitting on your back porch and just go ahead and hump your way, whistling into my Achilles,” McAfee joked, to which Rodgers replied, “Proceed, proceed,” with a smile on his face. The Super Bowl then revealed he had received a lot of ‘get well’ messages from friends, teammates, and people he didn’t even know.

Dan Marino talks about Aaron Rodgers’ injury
Football is a contact sport, and injuries are part of the game. But sometimes the situation takes a bad turn. Many famous players had to retire because they weren’t able to recover from their knocks. Several got back to playing but were never the same prior to getting hit.
The Miami Dolphins legendary quarterback Dan Marino is one such individual, who also ruptured his Achilles in Week 6 of the 1993 season against the Cleveland Browns. In a recent interview, the 62-year-old revealed how tough the rehab will be for Aaron Rodgers.
“It’s tough. I went through that Achilles thing,” Marino claimed, as per the Miami Herald. “You never know when it’s going to happen; it’s devastating. And he [the Rodgers] worked so hard this offseason.”
“It didn’t actually heal all the way,” he continued. “So, I had to deal with not being able to get up one my toe the rest of my career.”
But the Dolphins Hall of Famer admitted that modern medicine has progressed a lot since his days. So it’s possible Rodgers can make a quick recovery.
An interesting fact is that Dr. Neal Attrache, who performed surgery on Aaron Rodgers’ Achilles, is the same doctor who operated on Rams running back Cam Akers in 2021. He managed to rejoin the roster in time to play in the playoffs. But the key thing to note is that Akers was 22 at the time, and Rodgers is nearly 40. The healing process works differently as people age. But the MVP signal-caller remains determined to fully recover and kick-start his Jets career once more.
