The New York Jets recently made a blockbuster trade with the Green Bay Packers to acquire the 10-time Pro Bowl, QB Aaron Rodgers. The Jets immediately become a Super Bowl contender in the AFC and will look to win the championship before their window closes. Many people believe the Jets will have to go all out this year since Rodgers might hang up boots following the 2023 season. However, Rodgers has other ideas.

According to multiple reports, the 39-year-old QB Aaron Rodgers has made a statement that he intends to play with the NY Jets beyond the 2023 season. He claims he has made a commitment to the New York-based football team. “This isn’t a one and done in my mind,” said Rodgers according to Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic. This is a commitment.”

Despite Rodgers’ promising statement, some fans on social media are not buying the words of the 4-time league MVP QB. Just last off-season, Rodgers reportedly claimed that he will retire a Packer after signing a huge 3-year extension worth up to $150 million. And now, within a year, the veteran quarterback has jumped ships from a rebuilding Packers to an already-stacked Jets franchise.

Rodgers gives the Jets a better chance at winning the Super Bowl than any quarterbacks they currently have on their roster. He will try to double his championship ring count with the help of a young Jets core in the 2023 season.

Jets GM Joe Douglas just made one of the most historic trades in the franchise’s history by acquiring the Super Bowl-winning signal-caller Aaron Rodgers. The Jets franchise and its fans are very excited about their team’s future with the 4-time All-Pro QB under center.

“Aaron is one of the best quarterbacks to ever play this game and to have an opportunity to add a player of that caliber, you are always going to look into it and how it fits within our culture,” Douglas said on Tuesday before the trade went through. “We’re all excited to add someone of his character and his ability.”

“I’m excited about the new adventure here in New York,” Rodgers said at his introductory press conference on Wednesday. Adding to that, Rodgers claimed he chose the Jets because he likes the direction the franchise is headed with young talents.

While most of their star players are on a rookie deal, the Jets have a good 2-3 year window to win the Super Bowl with the experienced quarterback. They would look to add some more pieces around Aaron Rodgers in the upcoming 2023 NFLA Draft to further strengthen their roster.
