Aaron Rodgers has officially been cleared to return to the football field before the New York Jets‘ Christmas matchup against the Washington Commanders.
The quarterback who has kept it no secret that he intends to return before the year ends has kept his word, and while it did sound too far-fetched to believe initially, to see it happen is jaw-dropping.
While he has been cleared to return, that does not mean that he will actually play. The Jets have made it clear that in a season where the team has no shot to make the playoffs, it makes absolutely no sense to send Rodgers out there and risk him getting injured yet again.
However, at the same time, there is a possibility that the team will send him out there and give him a snap or two to show the fans he is back, a sort of early Christmas present for them.
N.Y. Jets fans may have an early Christmas present under the tree...a healthy Aaron Rodgers, who our sources tell us is expected to be cleared medically for game action before Gang Green's December 24th contest against the Commanders! The news was revealed by TMZ Sports
Aaron Rodgers could take a few snaps in the Jets matchup against the Commanders
This news does not change anything for the New York Jets’ season; it is still not going to make a big difference for the team that is beyond playoff contention with their 5-8 record.
However, this week was a good week to be a Jets fan, as Zach Wilson put up the best numbers of his career against the Houston Texans. Wilson put up 301 yards without any interceptions and scored two touchdowns.
Then, it'll be up to the coaches and team execs to decide whether the 4x NFL MVP plays. We're told barring an unexpected setback, Rodgers will be given the all-clear before the Week 16 game against the NFC East team at MetLife Stadium in Jersey. The source further stated
Irrespective of the fact that Rodgers will not return this season, what he has managed to do is nothing short of remarkable. His recovery has been nothing short of insane.
He has healed from the most feared injury in all of sports—an injury that requires a minimum of 6 months or so to get back from in just 10 weeks. His alternative remedies, whatever they are, have worked!
