The New York Jets clinched a thrilling victory against their AFC East division rivals Buffalo Bills on Monday with a walkoff touchdown. However, the Jets fans can not celebrate their victory as their star quarterback Aaron Rodgers suffered a serious injury in the first quarter itself. Now, head coach Robert Saleh has confirmed that Rodgers’ injury isn’t looking good.
During the post-game press conference, HC Robert Saleh confirmed that Rodgers’ injury is not looking good. Saleh confirmed that Rodgers’ X-rays came back negative but he is suspected to have suffered an Achilles injury, which could keep him out for the entire 2023 NFL season.
“All right, I’ll do with the quarterback real quick. Concerned with his Achilles. MRI’s probably gonna confirm what we think is already gonna happen. So, it’s not good,” said Saleh.
Saleh claimed that despite the victory, his heart was with Aaron and nowhere else. The head coach further said he’s devastated and hurt for Aaron, who has invested so much in the Jets’ 2023 season. Still, the franchise will wait till MRI for an official announcement.
Rodgers suffered an injury after he was sacked by the Bills linebacker Leonard Floyd just 4 minutes into the game. Initially, it looked like Rodgers was fine as he was getting back to the huddle but a few seconds later Rodgers went down on the turf and had to be examined by the Jets’ medical staff.
He was ruled out for the game following a medical check in the tent on the sidelines and is now expected to be out for the remainder of the 2023 season. In his absence, the young signal-caller Zach Wilson took over as the quarterback for the New York-based football team.

Jets took down the Bills despite losing Aaron Rodgers
The Jets took down the defending AFC East champions Bills in their season opener game on Monday despite losing their starting QB earlier in the first quarter. Wilson took over at the QB position for the Jets and led them to a victory.
The Jets’ rookie Xavier Gipson returned a punt for a walk-off touchdown in overtime. Wilson completed 14 of his 21 pass attempts for 140 yards and 1 touchdown after taking over as the quarterback.
New York’s second-year running back Breece Hall carried the rock 10 times for 127 yards while averaging 12.7 yards per attempt. However, the Jets have a tough schedule ahead and without Rodgers, the future isn’t looking bright for the New York-based franchise.
