The New York Jets are leaving no stone unturned to provide the best weapons to QB Aaron Rodgers. The team is desperate to turn the table upside down from last year’s failures and with the inclusion of the healthy and fit Aaron Rodgers, they are hoping for the best in the coming season.
The Jets offense was a laggard last season. They allowed 64 sacks and ranked 28th in the last season. In an attempt to resolve the problem, the Jets’ management decided to sign multiple players who would assist the veteran in the coming season.
From the Dallas Cowboys, the Jets signed Tyron Smith– one of the leading offensive tackles with an 89.1% pass-block win rate along with a 78.8% run-block win rate. In addition, he has been a Pro-Bowler for eight times and an All-Pro for four times. In addition to Smith, the team also drafted John Simpson and Morgan Moses. All of them will have the role of protecting Rodgers as the Jets lacked a solid OL last season.
Now, the Jets have managed to make the fourth interesting signing. They signed wide receiver Mike Williams from the Los Angeles Chargers. The Jets signed a one-year deal worth up to $15 million and now, he will be Aaron Rodgers’ newest weapon.
Despite multiple injury concerns, Williams is one of the most big-bodied figures who can make crucial plays in vital games. Since 2018, he has been the leader in yards per reception (15.9). However, the WR failed to live up to expectations in the last two seasons as he suffered serious injuries.
Jets fans delighted with the team signing Mike Williams
The Jets had an impactful NFL off-season with the inclusion of multiple players on the team. While many teams didn’t make big moves in free agency, the Jets have managed to solve their OL woes- at least on paper. And now, Mike Williams will act as a big boost to the receiving group that already includes WR1 Garrett Wilson.

The biggest challenge for the Jets team would be to stay healthy in the coming time. The Achilles Tendon injury finished the season for Rodgers in the very first game. The fitness team and the players would be cautious about any such incident taking place in the next season.

As the shopping seems to come to an end, all eyes will be on the preseason to see how Aaron Rodgers and his new teammates perform with each other. If they manage to stay healthy, the Jets could be serious playoff contenders in the upcoming season.
