After months and months of trade speculations and rumors, Aaron Rodgers has finally been shipped to New York by the Green Bay Packers in exchange for a bunch of draft picks. Rodgers will replace the Jets’ former first-round pick Zach Wilson as the starting quarterback and will look to lead the franchise to Super Bowl glory in the near future.

Amidst this situation, the newly added Jets QB Aaron Rodgers has shared an amusing response to Zach Wilson’s viral quote. When the Jets started to shop for a veteran quarterback following Wilson’s abysmal 2022 season, the former second-overall pick claimed that he’ll make life a living hell for any veteran quarterback who comes to take his job.

The 2021 first-round Zach Wilson has already been labeled a bust by many experts around the league after losing the starting QB job within two seasons. However, the veteran QB Aaron Rodgers believes he can help Wilson’s career with his mentorship.

“I feel like part of my role here is to help him get his confidence back,” Rodgers said. “Part of the opportunity here is to be a great mentor to him, teach him fundamental stuff, and allow him to be around me and through osmosis pick up some things that can really help him in his career.”

Aaron Rodgers and the Jets’ head coach Robert Saleh both claim that their franchise hasn’t closed the door on the 23-year-old quarterback. They believe Wilson can sit behind the future Hall of Fame QB and pick the brains of him.

Nevertheless, the NY Jets would now be focused on making their roster better by adding some great pieces around in the much-awaited 2023 NFL Draft. The Jets GM Joe Douglas will look to add some offensive line talent to protect their franchise QB.
