Aaron Rodgers‘ Achilles injury happened in week 1 of the 2023 NFL season. In the New York Jets‘ week 6 matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles, Rodgers was seen throwing footballs before the game without his crutches. In the span of five weeks, Rodgers has dominated his rehab in such a way that he is now without crutches and is looking comfortable.

He came under a lot of criticism for his act of throwing balls before the Jets’ game. A lot of analysts and pundits felt that Rodgers did that because he wanted attention and he should be resting instead. Rodgers plans on being back on the field before the end of this season. The Jets’ head coach Robert Saleh called Rodgers a “freakazoid” for standing the entire game on the sideline.

Rodgers recently shared a couple of pictures on his Instagram account, seemingly in response to all the criticism he received for his ‘attention-seeking’ act. In the first picture, Rodgers is throwing a football before the game wearing a white t-shirt and black track pants. In the second picture, Rodgers posted a smiling photo of himself. He captioned the post as “Progress.”

Rodgers’ recovery is ahead of schedule by the looks of it. He was bought in by the Jets earlier this offseason to help a young team reach the playoffs. The Jets are currently 3-3 and might make the playoffs this season. If they do so, Rodgers might return for them during the NFL postseason. It will be some story if he does.

“It was incredible to be back around the guys and I was really thankful to be back on the sidelines,” Rodgers said on the show. “That was a special moment for me to be back on the field throwing a football.” He aims to return by the end of the regular season this year.

The Jets broke the Philadelphia Eagles‘ unbeaten streak of five games on Sunday. They have now improved to a 500 record for the season and will look to rack up as many wins as possible and get into the postseason. They will play their next game against the New York Giants next Sunday.
