On Monday, the New York Jets led by their former second-overall pick Zach Wilson went against the Los Angeles Chargers in their week 9 matchup. Aaron Rodgers — who is currently recovering from his Achilles injury — attended the game to support his team. Following the game, the Chargers defensive back Derwin James asked Rodgers what every football is wondering right now.
After the game, when both teams’ players were shaking their hands on the field, the Chargers DB Derwin James asked Rodgers when the Jets QB would return to the field.
Give me a few weeks. . .Rodgers told James.
Aaron Rodgers has made an impressive process with the help of his aggressive rehab routine over the last couple of months. Before the game, he was seen walking freely without crutches. Furthermore, prior to the kickoff, the 39-year-old was seen on the field dropping back and practicing his throws. Rodgers looked pretty mobile for someone who tore his Achilles just a few weeks ago.
In fact, Rodgers launched a 55-plus yards throw while dropping back three steps before the game. All signs point towards the Jets quarterback coming back this season to lead his team.
On the sporting side of things, the Jets got battered by the Los Angeles-based football team on Monday Night Football. The Chargers defensive back Derwin James had a great outing as he led his team with 7 total tackles.
In the end, the Jets suffered an embarrassing 27-6 loss in their week 9 game and fell to a 4-4 record. Next, the Jets are scheduled to take on the Las Vegas Raiders this weekend in their week 10 matchup. Zach Wilson and the Jets would look to rebound from this week’s loss by securing a victory against the Raiders.
Aaron Rodgers has made an impressive progress in his rehab
When Aaron Rodgers went down with an Achilles injury back in September, many thought his season and even his career were done. There were even reports that Rodgers was ruled out for the remainder of the season with the injury.
But, so far, in his recovery, Rodgers has made impressive progress, thanks to his aggressive rehab process. Now, some reports suggest, Rodgers could be back with the Jets as soon as their week 17 game against the Cleveland Browns.
However, New York’s general manager Joe Douglas recently told the reports that the team has no timeline for Rodgers’ return to the field. For now, they will continue their journey with Zach Wilson as their starting signal-caller.
