Rodgers refusing to share his jersey to Lions' Jameson Williams brings the old retirement talk back. This time with full force.

It was going too well for Aaron Rodgers and co in the past few weeks. With an abysmal first half of their 2022 regular season, Packers were already declared out of playoff contention. But things started falling into perspective for the team finally when they clinched four continuous wins. From a 4-8 record to 8-8 in the span of four weeks. The only thing that could have made it better was that fifth continuous win, finalizing their spot in the playoffs, but alas!
The Packers failed to make it count where it mattered the most. The week 18 game at Lambeau stadium was supposed to be the venue of the Packers’ ultimate comeback. It was supposed to finish off all the noise and all the scrutiny the team management and their dear quarterback were subjected to this whole season.
Detroit Lions produced a monstrous effort to pull off an upset that the Green Bay franchise will remember for ages now. Even with their poor form in the better part of the season, this defeat will sting the most to them without a doubt.
The bottom line after this for Packers fans is that they lost to a better team with a final score of 20-16 and will have to watch the playoff games from their homes.
It’s highly likely that this was the ‘last dance’ for Aaron Rodgers

While the loss was understandably sad for the Green Bay team but it looks like it’s headed to be more somber in the coming days. Their superstar quarterback, Aaron Rodgers, might have just played his last home game today if someone noticed what had transpired after the game.
After the game, when players from both teams were doing the customary handshakes, the camera caught a sensitive moment of Rodgers. When Lions WR Jameson Williams came near the Packers QB, he asked for his no. 12 jersey. This is a common tradition amongst players across various team sports. Normally AR would have obliged quickly even after suffering a heavy loss, but this time it was different.
AR only said, “I’m gonna hold on to this one,” and lightly refused to Williams, who understood the meaning instantly. Even though Rodgers had a smile on his face while saying this and the instance could be passed as nothing, the small ting of a droplet under the QB’s eyes was enough to tell the entire story.
Even before this game, Rodgers did hint that there’s a possibility that this can prove to be his last home game. His humongous contract might say otherwise, but big players are known to follow their hearts. And this particular season has been far from kind to the four-time NFL MVP. Be it on the field or off.
It shouldn’t come out as a surprise if the veteran does drop his cleats for good this time. The silent walk of him beside Randall Cobb going into the tunnel just strengthens the retirement thought. It will be a true shame if Aaron Rodgers went out in this fashion. But then again, he is always regarded as the ‘different one’ even amongst the different.
