Aaron Rodgers

Aaron Rodgers is one of the most popular NFL players of the modern era. The Green Bay Packers quarterback has often flirted with the idea of calling it time on his esteemed career during the past couple of seasons.

When he signed a contract extension with the Packers this season, he gave the idea that he did want to prolong his career for a few more years. He signed a three-year contract with the franchise, which will see him pocket about $150million in total.

The contract, however, also gives Aaron Rodgers the freedom to walk away from the NFL anytime. This flexibility along with his recent comments on the retirement issue has once again garnered the attention of fans. Rodgers said that he almost thinks about his retirement all the time, after playing the Golf exhibition fixture alongside Tom Brady, Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes.

“I think about it all the time. We, you commit, you’re 100 per cent,” Aaron Rodgers said of his retirement from the game, via ProFootballTalk. “But the older you get, the interests change, and the grind, I think, wears on you a little more…”

Rodgers continued, “The football part is the easy part. That’s the joy. It’s the other stuff that wears on you and makes you think about life after football. Tommy obviously set the bar so high with playing so many years, but I can definitely see the end coming.”

Now, it only remains to be seen if he follows along these lines and retires even before the start of the 2022 NFL season, which might have a massive impact on the whole of the NFL.
