The NFL 2022/23 season is well and truly off and running, and has seen plenty of ups and downs in the ongoing season, with plenty of surprises and shocking results. The Green Bay Packers have had a disastrous season, and Aaron Rodgers hasn’t held himself back on his teammates’ quality.

The 38-year-old has been particularly vocal about the quality of his offensive players, ever since the start of the season. He even publicly criticized them on numerous occasions, calling them out as inexperienced and whatnot.

Despite his criticisms, however, the quality of plays orchestrated by him and his O-line has not become better, and they currently have a 3-4 record. Their latest defeat came against the Washington Commanders and it has intensified the criticisms on the part of the veteran.

During his recent appearance on the Pat McAfee show, Aaron Rodgers said that they have a bigger problem than their mistakes being just simply a one-time occurrence. He even urged head coach Matt LaFleur to simplify the offensive plays to help his inexperienced O-Line deal with the trouble of playing in the NFL.

“It’s definitely not just one play here or there,” Rodgers said as reported by ProFootballTalk. “It’s 20 percent of the time. If we have 50 plays and we have 10 missed assignments or mental errors, that’s 20 percent of the time. So that’s way too high. In the past we were looking more like, less than 10 percent, so that gives us a really good chance to be successful. 20 percent, that’s way too high.”

“That’s one play a series where you’re really making it tough on yourself. So we’ve got to fix that. I think guys who are making too many mistakes shouldn’t be playing. Gotta start cutting some reps. And maybe guys who aren’t playing, give them a chance.”
