Winning the Super Bowl is the ultimate goal for anyone who dreams of becoming a football player. However, the journey is filled with hardships and hours and hours of grinding on the training pitch. Only a few manage to stand at the top, and Will Blackmon knows the feeling. So when he predicts that Aaron Rodgers has a shot at lifting the Vince Lombardi Trophy once more, you know there’s some merit behind it.
Blackmon, who played as a safety during his career, believes that if the New York Jets can win the Playoffs in 2023, it will be a successful start. “Just making the playoffs is enough, and anything other than that is more, said Blackon while appearing on FOX Sports 1’s Speak. Blackmon may be onto something, as he has seen what Rodgers is capable of during their time together for the Packers.
Moreover, Blackmon predicts that the Jets did not sign Aaron Rodgers for a one-season wonder; they got him for a long-term project that includes the Super Bowl. “I don’t believe that it’s a one-year situation. It’s like, come here and at least make some noise and try to take over the AFC East, which they (the New York Jets) have not done in more than a decade,” said Blackmon.
Then he makes a big claim, stating that the Jets’ ultimate requirement from Rodgers is a Super Bowl. “His whole duration in New York, he better get a Super Bowl. That’s what he’s there for.” Blackmon concluded.
Aaron Rodgers will have a tough time leading the New York Jets to the Super Bowl

Will Blackmon is right about one thing: the Jets signed Aaron Rodgers because they want to end their longtime misery and challenge in the AFC. Why else would you trade for a Super Bowl winner? But their own conference, the AFC East, is one of the toughest in the entire NFL. The Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins, and even the New England Patriots will pose a tough challenge.
The soon-to-be 40-year-old Rodegers will have to rediscover his title-winning mojo from the get-go. However, that’s easier said than done. When you move to a new place, it takes time to get to know its inner workings. Hoping that Rodgers will swish a wand and the Jets will be instantly better is a fool’s errand. But a fit tactician like Rodgers will be a boon for the Jets.
Nevertheless, Rodgers is going out of his “comfort zone” and trying to make things work and get to know his teammates better. They attended NHL and NBA matches, and Rodgers even invited several of the Jets players to dinner. Rodgers will play a key part for the Jets this season but whether they will dominate the AFC remains to be seen.
