‘The Stache’ is back for Aaron Rodgers. The veteran quarterback chose a more straight-line look as he appeared before the game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Saturday. Rodgers rarely shies away from making any sort of statement, be it verbal or symbolic. The master of signals knows how to stay in the limelight. This time, his choice of facial hair is making the rounds on the internet.
Yesterday, the New York Jets faced the Buccaneers in their third preseason friendly. As usual, all the attention was on the 39-year-old, who walked down the tunnel shortly before the game commenced. The spectators cheered with enthusiasm as Rodgers played with the ball. What caught everyone’s attention, however, was the neatly shaved moustache on the Pro Bowler’s face. It quickly became the talk of the Big Apple.
Aaron Rodgers is known to have experimented with his facial hair in the past. During his 18-year stay at the Green Bay Packers, he routinely shocked everyone with his unique choice of beard.
Fans hyped to see Aaorn Rodgers with a moustache
Rodgers and facial hair have a history, and the fans know it. Despite the fact that it may look like a style statement for the Super Bowl winner, it’s his way of announcing to the world that he means business.
Rodgers continues to be an on-looker on the Jets bench as Zach Wilson dominates the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He has praised the improvement Wilson has made during the preseason. He hopes to pass on the torch at the correct moment, just not right now. For now, he is itching to get back on the field. “I can’t wait to see everybody at MetLife next week and then Sep. 11th,” Rodgers told CBS, as per the Jets’ official website after their 13-6 loss on Saturday. Fans want to see him dawn the Gang Green colors as soon as possible.
Head Coach Robert Saleh did reveal he may give Rodgers a short stretch against the New York Giants in their final preparation game. In the meantime, the future Hall of Famer is enjoying life in New York. “It’s been a lot of fun,” he told Ian Eagle. “It is a big change—18 years in one place—but I’m having a good time with these guys.” Undeniably It’s a big change of scenery for the veteran. But he is trying to make things work with the young guys in the locker room. “Every year I’m in the league, I get older, and they stay the same age, the young guys,” Rodgers added. “You have to find ways to relate.”
He can rest a bit easier as several of his former teammates are in his current squad. Players such as Allen Lazard and Randall Cobb, whom he played with in Green Bay, are helping him to settle quickly.
