The New York Jets fans were at the peak of optimistic about the 2023 season after acquiring Aaron Rodgers to replace Zach Wilson as their starting quarterback. However, their optimism soon died when Rodgers suffered a horrific Achilles injury during the first quarter of the Jets’ season opener against the Buffalo Bills. However, what seemed to be season ending injury is now looking a lot less worse as the veteran quarterback teased an early return to the field than expected.
During a recent episode of the ESPN podcast The Pat McAfee Show, Rodgers made an appearance and shared a massive update on his Achilles injury while quoting the NBA star Kevin Garnett.
“I’m not gonna make any of those statements, that’s fair to myself. As Kevin Garnett said, ‘Anything is possible,'” Rodgers said when McAfee asked him whether he could return for playoffs. “I’m gonna try and push this thing as much as it will allow me to. There’s markers I gotta see, where I’m at after a week, in two weeks and then a month, and two months and then we’ll see what the conversation is from there.”
Rodgers didn’t rule out a return to the field in the postseason. That means he is betting on himself to recover ahead of the playoffs. So, if the Jets could make the playoffs under their former second-overall pick Zach Wilson, there’s a slight chance Rodgers could return to the field in this season.
The Jets have a tough stretch of schedule that starts with a tough game against the Dak Prescott-led Dallas Cowboys in week 2 of the regular season. Wilson will look to make the Jets fans believe in his team with a victory over the tough Dallas-based football team.

Zach Wilson looks to fill the shoes of Aaron Rodgers in New York
All the work the Jets did in the off-season to acquire Aaron Rodgers went in vain when the veteran quarterback went down with an injury after just playing 4 snaps for the New York-based football team.
Rodgers suffered a season-ending Achilles injury in the week 1 game and will be out for at least the rest of the 2023 season. In his absence, the young QB Zach Wilson will take over the starting QB job and will try to lead them to the postseason.
The Jets head coach Robert Saleh believes his team could still compete for the Super Bowl even under Wilson, but the fans are not optimistic about their future without Rodgers under the center. Wilson has to have a great game against the Cowboys to spark a fire in New York.
