Coming into the 2023 NFL season, the New York Jets had so much optimism since they added the veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers to their squad in the off-season. However, their hopes and dreams crumbled when the 39-year-old signal-caller suffered an Achilles injury in the very first drive of the Jets’ week 1 game.

At the time, the injury was considered season-ending and Rodgers was ruled out for the remainder of the regular season. However, the 10-time Pro Bowler has made a surprising recovery from his injury and is looking to return to the field soon. And now, Rodgers has shared a 4-word update about his possible return.

On his Instagram story, Rodgers reposted an image of a watch from the company he works as an ambassador for, Zenith, and captioned it, “A little more time…” The story prompted fans to discuss whether Rodgers is hinting at a potential return to the game.

Some fans speculated that Rodgers could return to the field on December 28, since the date 28 was visible in the watch. That could be true since the Jets are scheduled to face the Cleveland Browns on the very same date in their week 17 game. But some others were confident Rodgers, who tore his Achilles in September, couldn’t return that soon.

Rodgers has surprised everyone so far this season in his recovery process. So, there’s a tiny possibility that Rodgers’ aggressive rehab would allow him to return to the Jets in week 17. Nonetheless, even without Rodgers, the Jets are doing fairly well so far as they have a record of 4-3 through the first 8 weeks of the season.

Aaron Rodgers opens up about his recovery process

Ever since he suffered the Achilles injury back in week 1, Aaron Rodgers has been in rehab in California following a successful surgery. Now, nearly 2 months into his rehab, the 4-time league MVP opened up about his recovery process.

It's been a grind. Frustration, sadness — a lot of sadness. . . It was a tough time and I was in a rough place.
Rodgers told PEOPLE magazine on Monday.

Rodgers then went on to say that he is grateful for all the support he received during his rehab. In addition, he also noted how appreciative he is of all the people who brought him food and checked in on him during the tough times.

Nonetheless, if Zach Wilson could lead the Jets to the playoffs, Rodgers might end up returning to the field in the postseason to lead the New York-based football team.
