It has been nearly 2 months since the New York Jets lost their starting quarterback Aaron Rodgers due to an Achilles injury. Initially, it seemed like a potential season-ending injury and the Jets would’ve to play with Zach Wilson for the rest of the season. But now, Rodgers has made tremendous progress in his recovery.

Rodgers has been showing progress every week. Just 3 weeks after suffering the injury, Rodgers showed up at the MetLife Stadium in crutches to support his teammates in their game against the Kansas City Chiefs. Now, He is free of crutches and carts. Every week, ahead of the Jets game, Rodgers arrived at the locker room in a cart, but this week it was different.

Before the start of the Jets’ week 9 home game against the Los Angeles Chargers, the 39-year-old quarterback pulled to the stadium and was seen walking into the locker room freely. Rodgers, who was wearing an all-black attire from head-to-toe, waved to the camera before entering the locker room. Check out the footage attached below.

Despite the injury, Rodgers has been a regular at the Jets games and reportedly even in the team meetings too. He has been mentoring the 3rd-year quarterback Zach Wilson from his very first day in the training camp.

In his absence, the Jets have managed to do pretty well for themselves as they are currently sitting with a record of 4 wins and 3 losses through the first 8 weeks of the regular season.

When will Aaron Rodgers return to the field?

The 4-time league MVP Aaron Rodgers suffered what was considered a season-ending injury back in September. Now, he is on pace to make an unprecedented return to the football field in the ongoing NFL season, according to reports.

Just a few days ago, Rodgers hinted at his potential return as he shared a picture of a watch on his social media profile and wrote, “A little more time…” under the image.

The date on the watch was shown as 28, which led to many people speculating that Rodgers would return to the field on December 28. Convincingly, the Jets do play against the Cleveland Browns on December 28 in their week 17 matchup.

So, that could possibly be the return to his field. But, that is just purely speculation. A realistic chance for his return to the field is in January if the New York-based football team makes it to the postseason. Rodgers is expected to get back on the field and lead New York if they reach playoffs in a couple of months.
