Aaron Rodgers vehemently wants the Dolphins to consider ‘shutting’ QB Tua Tagovailoa down for the remainder of the season

Legendary quarterback Aaron Rodgers recently spoke about Tua Tagovailoa entering the concussion protocol once again. Tagovailoa already missed three games earlier this season when he went down with a concussion in back-to-back games and now is doubtful for this week’s game against the New England Patriots too.

These multiple rounds of Tagovailoa entering the concussion protocol are not normal and questions over the team’s poor handling of Tagovailoa’s injury are now making ground. Rodgers recently appeared on “The Pat McAfee Show” and spoke about the issue. He said that it is probably the right time for the Miami Dolphins to consider shutting down Tua since he has now had a few episodes.

The Dolphins are currently still in the playoff picture, but Rodgers believes that Tagovailoa’s health is more important than anything else. “Now it’s probably time to maybe consider shutting it down when you’ve had some episodes,” Rodgers said on ‘The Pat McAfee Show’.

“I don’t know if that’s going to be in the thought process. But, as competitors, that’s the last thing you want. But, at some point, you do have to start thinking about your cognitive function later in life and the after-effects you might be dealing with,” he added.

Aaron Rodgers wants Tua Tagovailoa to heal quickly

Adding further, Rodgers wished Tagovailoa well for the recovery of his brain and also wished him the patience to deal with everything in these difficult times, as dealing with attention isn’t as easy as it looks.

“I wish him all the healing necessary for his brain and just the patience just to deal with this, which will be a difficult time, I’m sure, dealing with all the attention,” Rodgers said.

By all means, it looks like Tagovailoa is ruled out of the regular season, and even if the Dolphins make it to the playoffs; it looks likely that the Dolphins won’t rush with their main QB. Dolphins have two more games remaining this season- both against divisional rivals against whom they are competing for a playoff spot- the Patriots and the Jets. They are 8-7 for the season and if they win both of their remaining matches, they will qualify for the playoffs, but Tagovailoa’s absence will be a huge setback for them.
