The Green Bay Packers have had a hugely underwhelming season so far, as they currently stand on a 4-6 record. Aaron Rodgers, however would be glad to have put an end to their 5-match losing streak with a statement victory over the Dallas Cowboys.

The Packers emerged glorious from the Week-10 encounter with a 31-28 result in overtime against the Cowboys after a gruelling contest. Despite the victory all is not well within the Packers locker room, as things took a heated turn on the pitch.

Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers and head coach Matt LaFleur seemed to be at crossroads after the quarterback did not have his way with 1:38 remaining on the clock in the fourth quarter. LaFleur wanted the Packers to have a punt after making two running plays, a move which did not sit down well with Rodgers.

While the quarterback’s on-field outburst could have been avoided, there is no denying that the opportunity in the dying stages would have given them the chance to win the game in regular time. The 38-year-old voices his frustrations on LaFleur after the game.

Just every single play call, probably,” Aaron Rodgers said, via a postgame transcript from the team as reported by ProFootballTalk. “I felt like we were like 30 yards from ending the game in regulation, and also felt like it was two minutes, so I was going to be calling those, and I was in a pretty good rhythm. Obviously, I didn’t have a ton of attempts, but felt like I was in a pretty good rhythm. I felt like I threw the ball just about exactly where I wanted to, so I wanted a chance to go win the game.”

Although Matt LaFleur made a defensive move, the Packers’ recent set of games have done very little to instil confidence within the camp that they can win a tight game. The jury would definitely be out for what was the right play to be made at that time, but the fact that the Packers got their win should vindicate LaFleur’s decision to some extent. As they say, “All’s well that ends well.”
