If anyone wants to buy several pieces of Adrian Peterson‘s memorabilia, then they are in luck. The former Minnesota Vikings running back is apparently selling most of his medals, including the MVP honor because he has fallen into harsher times.

Peterson played ten glittering seasons in the purple before moving on to further adventures. He went on to play for the Washington Commanders, the New Orleans Saints, the Arizona Cardinals, the Tennessee Titans, the Detroit Lions, and the Seattle Seahawks, unofficially hanging up his boots in 2021.

Although he accumulated a vast wealth—more than $100 million as per Spotrac—he faced financial trouble even while playing football. Naturally, it did not come as a shock when TMZ reported that the 39-year-old was having an estate sale.

And what is he selling? His NFL Rookie of the Year, NFL Offensive Player of the Year, and his 2012 NFL Most Valuable Player Award.

While there’s no clear reason as to why Peterson initiated such a measure, social media speculated on a few different reasons. One possible reason they argued was the former Sooner’s extended family.

Peterson has three children from his union with Brown: Adrian Peterson, Jr., Axyl Eugene Peterson, and Abrielle Peterson. Apart from that, he has five children from several other partners.

Peterson is one of the most accomplished running backs in the history of the NFL. For his contributions in a Vikings jersey, he was named among the top 50 to be part of the Minnesota franchise. They also included him in the All-Mall of America Field Team.

Moreover, he had four first-team All-Pro Bowl nods, three second-team All-Pro Bowl nods, and went to seven Pro Bowls. He led the league in rushing yards on three occasions (2008, 2012, and 2015). The NFL included him on the 2010 All-Decade Team. In 167 starts, Peterson registered 14,918 rushing yards, 120 rushing touchdowns, 350 receptions, 2,474 receiving yards, and six receiving touchdowns.
