The Philadelphia Eagles led by their star quarterback Jalen Hurts successfully defeated the Minnesota Vikings in their week 2 matchup on Thursday night. Hurts recovered well after throwing an interception in the first quarter. However, the bigger story of the Eagles’ victory was the heated argument between Hurts and the star wide receiver AJ Brown.
During the game, the Eagles’ Pro Bowl pass catcher AJ Brown was caught yelling at his quarterback Jalen Hurts during a heated argument. Philly’s head coach, Nick Sirianni, had to intervene to stop the argument between the two of the best players in his roster.
Hurts and Brown have had a good relationship with each other. Brown has revealed in the past that Jalen Hurts is one of the main reasons he signed with the Philadelphia-based football team during the 2022 off-season. The sudden outburst of emotions on the sidelines comes as a shock to the NFL fans. Check out the footage attached below.
Brown’s frustrations seem to be about his lack of targets in the game. In the Eagles’ victory on Thursday, Brown caught 4 passes for 29 yards while averaging 7.2 yards per attempt. The Eagles’ former first-round pick DeVonta Smith played the number 1 receiver role in the game as he caught 4 passes for 131 yards and 1 touchdown while averaging 32.8 yards per reception.
However, Brown’s lack of targets might’ve been due to the Eagles’ game plan of ground and pound against the Minnesota-based franchise. Star running back D’Andre Swift carried the rock a whopping 28 times for 175 yards and 1 touchdown, averaging 6.2 yards per carry.
Following the game, Brown did not speak with the reporters, but Hurts brushed off concerns about the altercation. “I have no worry about him. He is a great player, a great teammate, great friend. We’ll do anything and everything with winning in mind,” Hurts told reporters in the post-game presser. Furthermore, HC Nick Sirianni refused to share the details of the argument, claiming, “The conversations we have on the field are going to be private.”
