“The NFL doesn’t care about the health and safety of players,” Packers WR Allen Lazard and OT David Bakhtiari demand for the change for turf to grass pitches
The Packers have recently criticized the NFL for their use of slit film turf instead of real grass. The turf field has led to several serious injuries, including Packers LB Rashan Gary who suffered a season-ending injury.
Packers OT David Bakhtiari recently hit back at the NFL regarding the turf issue, calling it a shame and criticizing the league. David also pointed out Rashan Gary’s injury and how he won’t be able to play due to the slit film turf.

NFLPA president JC Tretter is asking the NFL to take an interest in the poor turf conditions and decrease unnecessary injuries. The NFLPA took this decision after constant outrage from the players and the analysts.
“The NFL and its experts have agreed with this data and acknowledge that the slit film field is less safe,” Tretter wrote. “Player leadership wrote a letter to the NFL this week demanding the immediate removal of these fields and a ban on them going forward, both in stadiums and for practice fields.
JC Tretter wrote a letter to the NFL pointing out the injury rate in the slit film turf stadiums compared to the stadiums that have real grass. Non-contact injuries and lower body injuries are among the injuries that statistically occur more.
