Given that the Chiefs are preparing for Super Bowl LVIII, Reid stated that he could not definitively answer whether Bieniemy would be on the team for the upcoming campaign. Bieniemy, though, might have choices.
With Bieniemy collaborating with Reid and Patrick Mahomes to revamp the offense, Kansas City advanced to three Super Bowls, winning two. Reid, the play-caller, and Mahomes, the extraordinary player consistently acknowledged Bieniemy’s contributions to the offense.
It is unlikely that Bieniemy will become the offensive coordinator. The openings in the NFL for OC remain far and few. Nevertheless, Bieniemy might find himself back on Reid’s coaching staff the following season. The Chiefs replaced Bieniemy with Matt Nagy in the offseason.
