After years of putting all their hopes in the veteran quarterbacks, the Indianapolis Colts have finally found their saviour in the form of quarterback Anthony Richardson, selected in the 2023 NFL draft. Colts owner Jim Irsay finally revealed the secret that he had to keep in for several weeks, and to celebrate, dozens of people came together for the official Colts 2023 NFL Draft pick watch party.
Colts fans have high hopes for the newly drafted quarterback Richardson, and if he works, he will truly be destined for greatness. And he sure is, equally devoted to Colts fans. That’s why, despite having a shoulder injury, when the opportunity came to surprise his fan, Richardson jumped right into it.
The rookie QB gave a pleasant surprise to a Colt’s superfan on his birthday, after his fiancee somehow pursued him to come to his house. Richardson pulled up to his house and spent time with the fan’s family. The fan expressed his feelings by saying, “Words can’t describe how thrilling this moment was for me to share with my loved ones.” In fact. a fan called him, “He’s such a sweetheart easiest QB to root for.”
Almost every day, Colts QB Richardson gets surrounded by his fans to sign autographs, after he stays for practice. Once the team security had to drag him out of the crowd because he wasn’t in the position to sign any more autographs. Colts fans truly love Richardson, and they sure know how to show it.
Anthony Richardson’s shoulder injury puts his season in jeopardy
Starting this season, Richardson had high hopes to achieve the long-term goal of the Colts. However, the 21-year-old is close to the end of his 2023 campaign after enduring a severe shoulder injury. The rookie quarterback “is seriously considering season-ending shoulder surgery on his damaged AC joint,” according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. He and the team are taking a reasonable time to decide what would be their next time, before reaching a conclusion. The good thing is, that Richardson’s injury isn’t that bad as there is no tear in the right labrum.

So far, Richardson has proved his dual-threat potential in just four games with a completion record of 59.9 per cent of his passes for 577 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception.
With Richardson not being there, the Colts have all their hopes in quarterback Gardner Minshew, who also has good experience. Throughout his career, he has completed 63.3 per cent of his passes for 7,185 yards, 46 touchdowns, and 15 interceptions.
