The Indianapolis Colts, under their star rookie quarterback Anthony Richardson, went against the Philadelphia Eagles in their third and final preseason game on Thursday. Richardson, a highly-touted signal-caller out of Florida, got some playing minutes during the game and impressed everyone with his athletic ability. Furthermore, he also made some Eagles’ fans mad with a hilarious touchdown celebration.

During the first quarter of the game, the Colts running back Deon Jackson rushed in for 4-yard touchdown to tie the game 7-7. Following the TD, the rookie quarterback Richardson taunted the Eagles fans by hitting the ‘Fly Eagles Fly’ celebration. He flapped his arms and looked into the Philly home crowd while mimicking the well-known Eagles celebration.

In the end, the Colts easily won the game 27-13. The Indianapolis-based football team finishes their preseason with 2 wins and 1 loss. They will begin their 2023 campaign with a home game against their AFC South division rivals, Jacksonville Jaguars, in a couple of weeks.

The Colts drafted Anthony Richardson as the 4th overall pick back in April. From the beginning, the Colts owner Jim Irsay was implying that Richardson would be the starting signal-caller for the Colts in week 1 of the 2023 regular season.

And now, head coach Shane Steichen officially announced last week, that Richardson will be the starting quarterback of the Indianapolis-based football team in week 1 against the Jaguars.

Richardson was competing with the veteran quarterback Gardner Minshew for the starting QB role. And now, he will be thrown straight into the fire. Richardson has immense talent and potential to become a franchise QB in the league.

However, the Colts really aren’t in good shape. They don’t have big offensive weapons that can help Richardson improve his game. The Colts would have to invest in getting their young QB some help if they want him to succeed in the league.
