“Antonio Brown is an awful teammate,” Shannon Sharpe blasts WR amidst talks of being a possible Cowboys signing

Antonio Brown somehow finds a way to get himself into the limelight, sometimes through his footballing skills, but mostly it is due to his theatrics on and off the field. The wide receiver had a messy breakup with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last season when he decided to remove his shirt and gear, during their encounter against the New York Jets.

The wide receiver also blamed the Buccaneers for making him play with an ankle injury, which was followed up with his contract being terminated by the franchise. Since then, Antonio Brown has not shied away from letting everyone know that he’s interested in returning to the NFL once again.

Brown did it very recently when he urged Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones to give him a call, for a potential move ahead of the 2022 NFL season. However, leading NFL analyst, Shannon Sharpe does not believe that the wide receiver has changed a bit, since his outburst with the Buccaneers.

Speaking on the popular podcast, Undisputed, Shannon Sharpe termed him as an awful teammate to play with. He further implored Antonio Brown to take up sports which do not require a team.

Sharpe said, “Why would Jerry bring that into this situation? The last thing you want is a terrible teammate. He’s an awful teammate. I don’t care what anybody. I don’t care how immensely talented he was. He’s a terrible teammate. It’s all about him. And when you play a team sport, they can’t be all about you.

“If you want it to be all about you, play golf, play tennis, play a sport where its all about you. You don’t like something, smash a racket like a John McEnroe or Kyrgios, do that, or golf, throw your putt, break your iron, throw it in the lake or something. You can do that. But when you play football, it’s about the team and he doesn’t seem to get that. He gets it. He doesn’t care to get it.”
