After a decade of waiting, college football fans will again get to play the ever-popular college football video game. EA is bringing back their most requested game, including more than 10,000 budding college football players except for Arch Manning.
However, Texas Longhorns’ fans can count their quarterback, Arch Manning, out of it. Orangebloods Anwar Richardson revealed shocking news on Monday night. The freshman QB has decided that he won’t be in the game. Richarson said Peyton Manning‘s nephew is more focused on his football.

The primary reason the video game company stopped producing their product was because players wanted a cut. Now, in the era of NIL, the developers have agreed to pay each player in the game $600 along with a copy of the game. Some chosen few would even get the chance to earn more by advertising.

Manning opting out of it has fans divided on social media. But one thing is certain: all of them are shocked by the news because in this day and age when players like Caleb Williams are bagging several million dollars from NIL, the 18-year-old doesn’t want it from arguably the most popular sports video game in every household.
Perhaps Manning is more committed to focusing on improving his skills because he will once again have to fight with Quinn Ewers for the starting quarterback spot. After the Longhorns exited the playoffs, many thought Ewers would announce the draft, but he announced he would play one more year in Texas.
In a recent appearance on ‘All Facts and No Brakes‘, Longhorns head coach Steve Sarkisian revealed that Manning will be more involved in the first team than last season.
Sarkisian said:
I think for Arch [Manning], what a great opportunity as a backup now in his second season. We're going to get some definite playing time, and we're looking forward to him doing that and watching his maturation and growth.Steve Sarkisian said
Manning came to Texas after turning down several college football powerhouses like LSU, Georgia, Tennessee, Ole Miss, and Alabama. His choice did disappoint a few, but he has yet to participate in the NIL game as of yet, like others. His only lone NIL opportunity arrived from Panini America. But his card was auctioned off, with the money going to charity.
