The Arizona Cardinals have made multiple acquisitions in free agency so far – the team has added offensive lineman, Evan Brown, wideout Chris Moore, defensive lineman Khyiris Tonga, and QB Desmond Ridder amongst other players. The team is not spending a hefty chunk towards acquiring one player but is distributing the resources available to improve positions across the board.
The team’s GM Monti Ossenfort has now revealed that the Arizona Cardinals are open to listening to offers from their competitors in exchange for their 4th overall pick in the upcoming NFL Draft. The presumption amongst the fanbase was that the team was eagerly awaiting for the draft to make a big splash by selecting an elite wide receiver such as Marvin Harrison Jr., but after Ossenfort’s most recent comments, the likelihood of that happening seems grim.
Here’s what the general manager had to say, addressing the reporters:
I think we'll always have the conversation, we may not get to a point where a deal makes sense, whether it's at No.4 or anywhere we're picking, but we're always going to have the conversation and if it makes sense, if it's attractive to building our team, then it's something that we'll certainly consider no matter where we're at in the draft.Monti Ossenfort said

The Arizona Cardinals will be looking to add an elite wide receiver to their team in the Draft
Ossenfort’s comments are bound to have piqued the interest of the Los Angeles Chargers, who have the fifth overall pick in this year’s draft. The reason is, with Jim Harbaugh now at the helm, he has emptied the team’s receiver room. Joshua Palmer and Quentin Johnston remain the only two wideouts on the team along with Derius Davis.
The teams with the first three picks in the NFL Draft are all looking for quarterbacks. The Chicago Bears and the Washington Commanders are certain about the position they will be filling in round 1, but the New England Patriots who have the third pick in the Draft may opt to go for a quarterback or use their pick on Marvin Harrison Jr.
The Cardinals have the fourth pick in the draft. The team has the best odds to land Harrison Jr, who is being considered as the most pro-ready wide receiver out of college. Kyler Murray could use that talent on his team. The Chargers could attempt to take Harrison Jr by enticing the Cardinals with lucrative trade offers. Will the package by the team be enough to accomplish that mission? There is nothing guaranteeing that. But the fact that Monti Ossenfort has made it public that he is “going to be listening” to trade offers for the 4th overall pick means that he wants to take full advantage of the situation the team is in and leverage the pick for a seasoned player.
