Bill Belichick, one of the greatest head coaches in league history, is currently out of a job. He and the New England Patriots parted ways after a disastrous season and ended their 24-year association together. Belichick led the Patriots to six Super Bowl victories with Tom Brady as the team’s QB. However, since Brady’s departure in 2020, Belichick and the Patriots struggled to make to playoffs.
After yet another losing season, the Patriots decided to pull the plug on their partnership with the legendary head coach. Belichick though, is still a hot property in the league, and teams are already lining up to acquire his services. One team in particular is very keen on getting Belichick and that team is the Atlanta Falcons.

The Falcons have already interviewed once with Belichick, but the team’s owner, Arthur Blank met with the six-time Super Bowl champion for the second time on Friday. Atlanta has interviewed nine coaches to replace the outgoing Arthur Smith, but their focus seems to be on Belichick going forward. According to CBS Sports, the Falcons have scheduled multiple second interviews for the upcoming week.
The Falcons fired their head coach Arthur Smith after he failed to lead them to the playoffs. Smith and the Falcons finished the season with a record of 7-10. It will be interesting to see what the Falcons do with the vacant head coaching spot.
The Atlanta Falcons are planning a second interview with Michigan HC Jim Harbaugh
The Atlanta Falcons’ head coaching search started on January 12 when they had their first interview with a potential candidate. However, one of their biggest interviews came four days later, when the Falcons had an in-person meeting with the University of Michigan head coach, Jim Harbaugh.

The former San Francisco 49ers’ HC recently led the Michigan Wolverines to a NCAA title. He has been linked with multiple head coaching vacancies, but the Falcons have already taken the first step. They have already met with Bill Belichick twice, and have scheduled another interview with Harbaugh during the upcoming week.
Harbaugh was the Niners’ head coach from 2011 to 2014. During those years, he led the Niners to a 44-19-1 record and a Super Bowl appearance in 2012. He is one of the best coaches available and it won’t be a surprise to see him become the Falcons’ next head coach. However, it is strongly believed that Harbaugh might return to Michigan for the following season.
