On Monday Night Football, Justin Herbert and the Los Angeles Chargers squared off against the Dallas Cowboys in their week 6 matchup. Herbert and the Chargers fought hard against Dak Prescott‘s team but failed to outscore them, resulting in a 17-20 Chargers loss.
Even before the game, the Cowboys and the Chargers players got into a brawl on the field, and Los Angeles’ running back Austin Ekeler got tagged in the face during the scuffle.
Ahead of the game, when the Cowboys’ defensive unit was taking the field. But the Chargers players who were already on the field seemingly took exception to the opponents coming on the field. According to reports, both team players started to push around each other and that’s when the Chargers RB Austin Ekeler got himself in the middle trying to break the scuffle. But Ekeler was caught in the middle of the fight.
In a short video posted on the social media platform X, the Cowboys’ defensive lineman Dante Fowler could be seen swinging at the Chargers players. Fowler, who was wildly swinging his hands, connected with Ekeler and knocked his helmet off him. Then Ekeler immediately got himself out of the brawl. Check out the footage of the brawl attached below.
Fowler landed punches on a few other players before the coaching staff separated the team and controlled the brawl. It is the second pregame brawl in week 6. On Sunday, the San Francisco 49ers and the Cleveland Browns got into a massive pregame brawl in their matchup.
Austin Ekeler and the Chargers had a bad day on the field
After getting tagged in the face during the pregame brawl, the Chargers running back Austin Ekeler had a bad day on the field. Ekeler registered only 27 rushing yards in 14 carries while averaging a mere 1.9 yards per attempt.

He made a solid contribution in the receiving game as he caught 4 passes for 35 yards. But he couldn’t help Justin Herbert and the Chargers outduel the veteran QB Dak Prescott and his team on Monday. As a result, the Los Angeles-based football team suffered a 17-20 loss and fell to a 2-3 record.
Now, they will look to bounce back with a victory against their AFC West division rivals and the defending Super Bowl Champions Kansas City Chiefs, who the Chargers are scheduled to face on Sunday in their week 7 matchup. The Chargers can’t afford to fall to a 2-4 record. So they will go all out against the Chiefs this weekend and will try to make a statement.
