“Who knows!” Bailey Zappe claims the Patriots are ‘clueless’ about who is the team’s QB1

The New England Patriots are going through a full-fledged quarterback crisis. Head coach Bill Belichick has failed to work his magic this season as the team has the second-worst record in the NFL having won just 2 games and lost 8. One of the many reasons for New England’s horrible showing this season has been the looming uncertainty at the quarterback position.
For the whole season, Bill Belichick has stuck with a floating QB approach and has been rotating Mac Jones and Bailey Zappe during games. While Jones has been getting more reps than Zappe, he is still not the designated starter for the team’s matchup against the New York Giants. Belichick has maintained an increased level of confidentiality this season when it comes to the Patriots’ QB situation.
Bailey Zappe told reporters on Friday that he was heading into Sunday’s game with the mindset of “treating it like every other game week.” The Patriots reduced their QB room to Mac Jones, Bailey Zappe, and Malik Cunningham after they cut Will Grier earlier today.

Bailey Zappe remains uncertain about getting play-time on Sunday
Bailey Zappe told NESN.com that he remains uncertain about his team’s quarterback situation heading into Sunday.
I mean, who knows. Whenever I get those opportunities. I got to go in there and do my job. Haven't done that to the best of my ability so whenever that next opportunity comes, this week or whenever, I'll try to go out there, take advantage of my opportunity and...help the team win.
The New England Patriots approach at QB has just been downright outrageous this season. Jones has had a rough time on offense this season, the team’s offensive line and lack of receivers has been a problem. Zappe is yet to get the opportunity to start this season. The QBs in New England are helpless. There is not much they can do except follow the Patriot way, and that is to perform when they are called upon.
Despite the team’s 2-8 record this season, Robert Kraft has not yet dropped the hammer on Belichick. The HC’s job was in question after the team’s loss in Frankfurt to the Colts, but it appears that no major moves will be made until the end of this season.
