The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are showing good form lately. They secured a win against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday Night Football. The Buccaneers stand at the top of the NFC South with eight wins and seven losses. After 15 games, the possibility of them playing the playoffs remains probable.
After the game against the Jaguars, Baker Mayfield shared some words with a CBS reporter. He tried to hint that his team was picking momentum at the right moment and the right time. He firmly believed this would help the team if they made the playoffs.

This is what Mayfield said to Melanie Collins:
We gotta close out better. Complementary football, singular defense. That's how it needs to be. ... We're getting hot at the right time. We gotta take care of business.Baker Mayfield via CBS
The quarterback had a lot of praise for the team’s defense. He said the defense helped him and made his job easier. He acknowledged how the entire team got its grooming and that grooming had a vital impact on the turf.
The quarterback had to acknowledge the defense as it performed well throughout the game. They sidelined Trevor Lawrence for the whole game. They performed four tackles and four sacks that kept Lawrence out of making threats to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ defense.
Baker Mayfield is making waves this season
Baker Mayfield has turned the tide this season. The fans got triggered when his name was announced as the regular starter for this year’s league. They were not happy to see the name of Mayfield in the place of Tom Brady, who retired in 2022.

However, with time, Mayfield changed things in his favor. His performance was hailed by Todd Bowles, his head coach. This is what Bowles said:
He's been outstanding. He's been outstanding in December. That's what you want from your quarterback in December. Everybody knows each other's plays right about now. But when you're trying to make a push and your quarterback is playing great, it gives you a chance.Todd Bowles on Baker Mayfield
There were a lot of speculations regarding Mayfield’s future in the squad. It is unsure whether he will stay in the squad in the coming time. But Mayfield is hopeful that he will continue in the next season. His performance in the last few games was decent enough to keep his name afloat.
