The Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield has agreed to sign a massive $100 million deal with the team. As per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the quarterback will sign the contract for three years with $50 million guaranteed.

At one point, Mayfield gave a condition to the Buccaneers management that he would be staying if the team managed to sign a proper offensive coordinator after their previous OC left for a head coaching gig. The Bucs came up with a new OC and extended veteran WR Mike Evans‘ contract as well, but Mayfield’s future was still uncertain as the team had to go through some issues regarding their salary cap restructure.

It was hence thought that Mayfield would hit free agency. Multiple teams’ names were getting afloat. The likes of the Minnesota Vikings were the top contender since they were looking for a replacement for Kirk Cousins.

However, these situations did not prevail, as the Bucs re-signed him for a massive $100 million deal. He was impactful last season and with a massive contract in hand; it is to be seen what magic he endorses in the coming time.
