They say a good friend stays forever and helps through every hardship in life, even if they are far from each other. That kind of camaraderie is hard to come by in this day and age. But for Cleveland Browns quarterback Nick Chubb, there are several who have stood beside him in times of trial. One of his former teammates, Baker Mayfield, and Chubb were very close. That showed up again when the running back posted some workout pictures, and Mayfield’s wife, Emily Wilkinson, showered her support for the same.
The Cleveland Browns did not have the best season last year. Naturally, fans and analysts alike were quick to point fingers at the leaky defense and misfiring offense. However, Chubb was an exception, and he recorded his best year since going pro.
A lot of hard work goes into achieving the best possible version of an athletic physique. While fans get to see a minuscule part of the grueling training on the field, what they don’t witness is the effort of it. Chubb’s recent workout pictures are a testament to every sweat and tear the players shed. Emily has seen that firsthand and is able to appreciate the effort.
“This got me fired up!” said Baker Mayfield’s wife Emily on Nick Chubb’s Instagram post. “Always cheering for you in the Mayfield household!” she concluded.
Besides Emily Wilkinson, fellow Brown players Anthony Brown Jr. and Sione Takitaki, along with Kansas City Chiefs Malik Herring and Dallas Cowboys Micah Parsons, showed their support for a brother. These players may be rivals on the pitch, but as fellow athletes, they are familiar with the hours of dedication that go into building a star performer.
Nick Chubb was voted the best running back despite the Cleveland Browns bad 2022 season
Despite last season’s woes for the Cleveland Browns, their star running back, Nick Chubb, made his mark in the NFL. The 27-year-old Georgia University graduate was voted the best, as ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported.
Chubb, since his rookie year in 2018, has averaged 5.2 yards per rush, which is the best in the NFL. Moreover, he ranks second in NFL history, behind Jamaal Charles‘ 5.4 clip, who has at least 1,000 rushes.
Besides Chubb, the San Francisco 49ers’ Christian McCaffrey, the Los Angeles Raiders Josh Jacobs, the New York Giants’ Saquon Barkley, and the Tennessee Titans Derrick Henry are the top 5 running backs in the NFL currently.
