“TRADE HIM”: Bart Scott has a LAUGHABLE take on Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers

Bart Scott is calling for the Green Bay Packers to trade Aaron Rodgers

It is the end of an era in Green Bay, judging off the looks of it, the Packers season may be done and along with their Super Bowl run coming to an end, we could be witnessing the curtains fall down on the careers of one of the greatest quarterbacks we have seen grace the field in the last two decades.

Aaron Rodgers still has two years left on his contract with the Packers. However, the contract is structured so that the quarterback is free to retire at any point if he wishes to do so. He is no longer looking like that bad man that we all knew him to be.

It is not entirely his fault. Rodgers can only do so much. He does not have as many weapons around him with the necessary experience. And he seems to be coming to the harsh realization that it is better to retire and get an opportunity to be at home on Sunday nights by the fireplace with a glass of wine in one’s hands rather than put yourself at risk of getting hit for essentially nothing.

In light of the Packers’ poor performance this season, First Take analyst Bart Scott had a different perspective when it came to Rodgers. He does not believe the QB is done playing at a pro level and that the team has to do everything it can to get the most out of value for him. Take a look at Scott’s statement.

Bart Scott dubs the Green Bay Packers & Aaron Rodgers’ season to be a “failure on all levels”:

Bart Scott believes the Packers stand to do more harm than good by keeping Aaron Rodgers on their roster.
Bart Scott believes the Packers stand to do more harm than good by keeping Aaron Rodgers on their roster.

Bart’s take was different, something that not a lot of analysts are pushing for. “I said this about a week ago on this show, they should trade him. You look at what the Denver Broncos got for Russell Wilson, this is a failure on all levels. Mark Murphy, Matt LaFleur, and then I put Aaron Rodgers responsible third…If you are going to double down on Aaron Rodgers, there is no way you allow Davante Adams to leave that building.

Scott adds, “If you’re going to put all your assets, and reward the bad man after the MVP year, where do you find yourself in the future? You do not have the stars that are good enough to win in this division. They should have franchised Davante Adams or paid him his money. Matt LaFleur is responsible because he signed off on Jordan Love. If you moved up to get a first round draft pick…, then he should be playing. It’s time to figure out if he can play because he’s going to go into his fourth year and you’re going to be stuck with Aaron Rodgers for two more years.”

Finally, Bart Scott puts the blame on an individual who has absolutely nothing to do with this matter. “Lastly, I want to blame Tom Brady. I want to blame Tom Brady for making everybody believe that you can thrive well into your 40s. Everybody thinks Russell Wilson benefitted from it and also Aaron Rodgers because Tom Brady won a championship at 43.”

Brady did do the unthinkable by winning the chip at 43 and that did redefine the standards and expectations that organizations had from quarterbacks. However, not everyone is an anomaly like Brady. Aaron Rodgers has not played like an MVP this season, but just like how a great artist relies upon his tools’ quality and precision, Aaron has to rely upon and trust his wideouts, which has not happened this season. The Packers’ offense has not clicked this season.
