The Cincinnati Bengals thrashed the San Francisco 49ers 31-17 in a much-anticipated game of the season in Week 8. The game was marked by the brilliance of Joe Burrow as the player covered over 300 yards and registered three touchdowns. After a sluggish start, the Bengals are finally back on track as they have now won three consecutive games. The win against the 49ers will boost the confidence of this Bengals side, who struggled a lot in the first few games of the season.

Apart from Burrow’s masterclass, the game witnessed some sheer madness. The Bengals team hit the Levi’s Stadium with one of Michael Jackson’s iconic ‘thriller’ dance steps. They followed the steps of the legendary dancer after intercepting Brock Purdy.

This development took place in the fourth quarter. The Bengals were leading by 17-10 and a throw by Brock Purdy could have changed the outcome of the game. However, it was successfully intercepted by the Bengals defense. After that, they danced to Michael Jackson’s hook-step. The whole team celebrated in style.

Of course, the Bengals team has every reason to do that. After a sluggish start by them, they finally got what they deserved. They started their season with a loss. After four games, they were standing with a record of 1-3. Now, after seven games, they are presently standing at 4-3. Consecutive three wins in three games made things for them. 

The situation is exactly the opposite for the 49ers. They had a winning start and continued their streak for five consecutive matches. But that streak halted as the team lost three consecutive matches. They are presently standing at a 5-3 record. After the first five games, the analyst started considering the favorites for this year’s Super Bowl. But those back-to-back defeats have made the case difficult. 

Joe Burrow slowly making grounds after a ‘terrible’ start to the season

The Bengals fans can finally breathe a sigh of relief with Joe Burrow finally delivering up to his potential. Burrow was having injury concerns to start the season which reflected in his performance. The Cincinnati franchise started the season with consecutive losses.

However, things started changing after the game against the Arizona Cardinals. The Cardinals witnessed the glimpses of old Burrow. He finished the game with over 300 yards and registered three touchdowns. 

He backed it up with a good outing against the Seahawks and in Week 8, had a redemption against the San Francisco 49ers. He scored three touchdowns and covered 283 yards. Despite his poor form in the first few games, the player has registered 10 touchdowns in the league. However, he has also been intercepted four times in the league. Next up, he will face Josh Allen and the Bills in the rematch of last season’s divisional game.
