The Cincinnati Bengals stadium has got a new update. It is expected to get a new artificial turf. After multiple reviews, the stadium authority decided to go ahead. The review process included the experience of players on the artificial turf. After all the reviews and discussions, the authority decided to implement the change in the stadium. The new field turf will have some similarities with the MetLife Stadium.
The Bengals team will make the project in collaboration with Hamilton County Commissioners. The commissioner approved the project and expressed his will for the success of the project.
Paycor Stadium Managing Director Steve Johnson said:
Hamilton County and the Bengals are committed to providing a top-level playing surface for NFL games, and this step confirms that commitment. The field will be installed in time for the entire 2024 NFL season.Steve Johnson said
This will also be a part of the sports project of Tarkett North America & Tarkett Sports.
Talking about the initiative, Eric Daliere, President of the company said:
We are honored to return to Cincinnati, renewing a vastly successful partnership. This project highlights FieldTurf's unwavering dedication to delivering superior performance and innovation at the highest level. With regional offices in Ohio, our local and national teams are thrilled to once again be the surface of choice for such a storied franchise.Eric Daliere said
With this, the artificial field turf is all set to make a return in the Paycor Stadium. The Bengals team had artificial turf from 2004 to 2011. As per the Bengals’ official website, they will be the eighth team to introduce artificial field turf.
The idea of introducing artificial field turf did not sit well with the fans
Despite the huge project being announced, fans expressed their dissatisfaction about the entire initiative. The possible similarity between the Paycor and the Metlife stadium made the fans angry. They expressed their agony on social media.
What made the fans angry was the nature and character of the Metlife Stadium. Earlier, a lot of players got injured in the Metlife Stadium. The latest example can be Aaron Rodgers who got injured in the first game of last season. Joe Burrow also suffered a lot of injuries last season and the implementation of the artificial turf can increase the chances of him getting injured.
Following all these, the fans expressed their discontent on Twitter. Check out some of the comments that they added:
The Cincinnati Bengals did not have a great outing last season. It is to be seen, whether the artificial turf brings luck to the Bengals team.
