The Cincinnati Bengals started the season with 3 losses from their first 4 games. Since then, they have won four straight and are again looking like the team that reached the AFC Championship game the past couple of years. In their recent game against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, the Bengals’ offense was clicking all the right buttons en route to a solid 24-18 victory.

However, there is some concern surrounding Bengals’ star WR Ja’Marr Chase after Sunday Night’s game. Chase, who finished the game with four receptions for 41 yards, suffered a back injury after falling awkwardly trying to catch a deep ball. The receiver was visibly in pain but returned to finish the game shortly after. He talked about his injury after the game and revealed that there was a chance he might miss some playing time.

“I’m alive,” Chase said, via video from Mike Petraglia of Jungle Roar Pod:

That’s the best thing right now. . . . It’s pretty sore just moving around.

The wideout landed hard on his back and the pain worsened as the game went on. He said since it’s a spine injury, the team is likely to proceed with caution. That might result in missed game time for the receiver. He further continued:

All I can do is pray and be a good teammate and be there for those guys and try to get healthy," he further continued. "That’s the only thing I can do right now. Everybody is counting on me to be healthy.

Chase hasn’t had a terrific season by his standards. However, he started to find his groove in recent games and will be hoping to recover from his injury as quickly as possible. The Bengals are on a roll and will play their next game against an exciting Houston Texans team, led by rookie QB C.J. Stroud.

Taylor said on Monday:

I was just with him. He's sore right now. It's impossible to say the day after the game. We'll just take it day-to-day with him.

The Bengals improved to 5-3 after beating the Bills on Sunday. They are on a four-game winning streak and will look to keep this momentum going.

Chase, the fifth overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, has been one of the best wideouts in the league in the past couple of years. So far this season, he has 64 receptions for 697 yards and four touchdowns. He will hope to recover quickly and help the team in their Super Bowl bid this season.
